This is a disadvantage as there are some who might not know about the app. Text messages can be sent to one person at a time, or you can send a group text. If you don't want to be involved with a group message that you receive, then you can opt out of the conversation.

Other files that you can send with WeChat include videos and pictures. GPS information is also available with the app in case you are trying to meet with friends or family. You can conduct video calls with one or more people. A phone number is needed for the account. This will bring up your contacts so that you can easily send them messages. Any conversation is saved, but it won't be saved to the actual server. This helps with the security of the information that you share with others. You can talk with random people who use the app, some from other countries.
